Disk Drives

What are Disk Drives?

Disk Drives are items in Zenless Zone Zero that can be equipped by an agent to provide additional attributes or stats.

Each agent can equip up to six Disk Drives. (The center of the drive above is for the W-Engine.)

Each Disk Drive has one base state and up to four random stats. Stats include HP, ATK, CRIT DMG, and more. For example, the Vagabond Folk disk drive increases impact.

Multiple disk drives from the same set unlock set effects

Equipping multiple Disk Drives from the same set unlocks their set effects.

For example, if you equip two Vagabond Folk disk drives, you will unlock the set effect, which increases Impact by 6%. The set effect differs depending on the disk drive.

There are two set effects for each disk drive:

  • One is unlocked at 2 pieces
  • Another is unlocked at 4 pieces

Slots

Disk Drives have six slots. Each slot corresponds to a Roman number (I, II, III, IV, V, and VI). In the first, closed beta test, these referred to Greek letters (α, β, γ, δ, ε, and ζ).

A disk drive from the first closed beta test which used Greek letters instead of Roman numerals to refer to the six slots.

For example, the disk drive set Thunder Metal will have the disk drives:

  • Thunder Metal I
  • Thunder Metal II
  • Thunder Metal III
  • Thunder Metal IV
  • Thunder Metal V
  • Thunder Metal VI

A disk drive can only be used in the slot that corresponds to its number. For example, Thunder Metal I can only be used in the top right slot.

Bardic Needle

The base stats of Disk Drives I, II, and III always provide a bonus to HP, ATK, and DEF, respectively, and hte base stats of Disk Drives IV, V, and VI are randomized.

One your Inter-Knot Level is high enough, the music store levels up as well.

When the music store reaches a certain level, the Track Settings feature will become unlocked.

YOu can set your Tuning Orientation to increase the drop rate of the desired Disk Drive set.

Rarity

Disk Drives come in three rarity levels:

RarityMax Level
20
15
10

A is the highest tier, followed by B and then C. Higher tiered disk drives will have higher base stats and higher max level.

Upgrading

Drives can be upgraded with Plating Agents to improve their base stats.

  • Blue disks give 100 EXP
  • Red disks give 1,000 EXP
  • Yellow disks give 10,000 EXP

Every five levels, the disk drive will need to be ascended. Ascension requires levels of the same tier as the disk drive and will result in a random sub-attribute being generated.

When a Disk Drive has less than 4 random stats, one new random stat will be added every 3 levels.

Once a Disk Drive has 4 random stats, a random existing stat will be upgraded every 3 levels.

The Disk Drive level cap varies depending on the rank of the Disk Drive.
