Signal Search
Signal Search is the gacha system in Zenless Zone Zero. It is a feature that allows players to obtain new agents, Bangboo, and weapons, such as W-Engines.
The Signal Search system is a core part of the game and is used to obtain new characters and weapons.

The chance of obtaining an S-Rank agent is 0.6% and the chance of obtaining an A-Rank agent is 7.2%.

What is a gacha game?
A "gacha game" refers to a type of video game, commonly available on mobile platforms, that integrates the gacha mechanic for monetization.
The term "gacha" comes from "gachapon," which are Japanese vending machines that dispense capsule toys.
In these games, players spend in-game currency, which can often be purchased with real money, to receive a random virtual item.
These items typically include characters, weapons, or other goods that can help players progress in the game.
Signal Search
In ZZZ, the Signal Search system comes with certain guarantees. For example, players are guaranteed to receive an S-Rank upon reaching 90 pulls.
Characters in ZZZ are assigned specific ranks, S, A, and B, to indicate how strong they are.
S-Rank characters are comparable to five-start unites in miHoYo's other games, and are considered to be the absolute best.
Banners
Signal Search has limited time and standard banners.
Limited-time
Signal Search has limited time banners, during which the chance of obtaining specific characters or specific ranks is increased.
For example, during the second Closed Beta Test (CBT2), the "Mellow Waveride" banner offered a guaranteed A-Rank or higher Signal for every 10 pulls, and an S-Rank or higher Signal for every 90 pulls.

In CBT2, the "Mellow Waveride" banner was available for 30 days. This pull required either 1 Encrypted Master Tape or 160 Film.
160 Film is equivalent to 1 Encrypted Master Tape, which is 1 pull.

Stable Channel
The Stable Channel Star-Studded Cast is a permanent channel through which Proxies can obtain non-limited Signals.
Under most circumstances, base probabilities apply to all Agent, Bangboo, and W-Engine Signals.
In cases where guarantees are in effect, please refer to the related rules.
When Proxies first Signal Search on the Stable Channel, the 1st to 5th Ten-Searches cost 20% fewer Master Tapes. From the 6th Ten-Search onwards, the number of Master Tapes required will return to normal.
The first S-Rank Signal Proxies obtain on the Stable Channel is guaranteed to be an Agent Signal. If there are no S-Rank Signals in the first 49 Searches, the 50th is guaranteed to be an S-Rank Signal.
The new player guarantee won't expire, but will omy take effect once. After Proxies obtain their first S-Rank Signal, further Searches follow the guarantee specified below in the "Stable Channel Signal Search" section.

S-Rank Signals
The base probability of an S-Rank Signal is 0.600%. Within 90 Signal Searches, at least one S-Rank Signal is guaranteed. After receiving an S-Rank Signal, the probability of an S-Rank Signal will be reset to base probability. The overall probability of an S-Rank Signal (including the guarantee) is 1.600%.
A-Rank Signals
The base probability of an A-Rank Signal is 7.200%, where the base probability of an A-Rank Agent Signal is 3.600%, the base probability of an A-Rank W-Engine Signal is 1.800%, and the base probability of an A-Rank Bangboo Signal is 1.800%.
Within 10 Signal Searches, at least one A-Rank or higher Signal is guaranteed. The overall probability of an A-Rank Signal (including the guarantee) is 13.000%.
B-Rank Signals
The base probability of a B-Rank Signal is 92.200%, where the base probability of a B-Rank W-Engine Signal is 46.100%, and the base probability of a B-Rank Bangboo Signal is 46.100%.
Signal Search Residual Signals Whenever you obtain an S-Rank Signal through Signal Search, gain 50 Residual Signals.
Whenever you obtain an A-Rank Signal through Signal Search, gain 10 Residual Signals.
Whenever you obtain a B-Rank Signal through ed Search, gain 2 Residual Signals.
Duplicate Agents
When you receive a duplicate Agent through any means (including but not limited to Signal Searching, shop exchanges, and system gifts):

The 2nd to 7th copies of an S-Rank Agent will be converted into one Agent Profile each for the corresponding Agent. From the 8th copy onwards, Agent Profiles will then be converted into 75 Residual Signals each.

The 2nd to 7th copies of an A-Rank Agent will be converted into one Agent Profile each for the corresponding Agent. From the 8th copy onwards, Agent Profiles will then be converted into 15 Residual Signals each.
Duplicate Bangboo
When you receive a duplicate Bangboo through any means (including but not limited to Signal Searching, shop exchanges, and system gifts):

The 2nd to 5th copies of an A-Rank Bangboo will be converted into one Logic Core each for the corresponding Bangboo. From the 6th copy onwards, Logic Cores will then be converted into 15 Residual Signals each.

The 2nd to 5th copies of a B-Rank Bangboo will be converted into one Logic Core each for the corresponding Bangboo. From the 6th copy onwards, Logic Cores will then be converted into 1 Residual Signal each.
This channel is a Stable Channel. The Search count for guaranteed Signals is cumulative across all Stable Channels but is independent of and unaffected by other types of Channels.
